You are off to a great start!!! I can't wait to see more...especially when you get your students' blogs linked to this one!!! I am going to try to send you an email to walk you through those steps!! Congrats on getting this going--I know you and your students will LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteYour right i do embrace the ammendments, particularly those that i stated, however i didnt look past the fact that the constitution was written to grow with our nation, thereby allowing us to create ammendments that extended past the bill of rights and those that gave african americans freedom and woman equality. I beleive the constitution is a growing constitution. As you know it can be added to and as the 21st ammendment did overturn other ammendments. There is room for growth in the constitution.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Constitution is as useful as we as citizens are led to believe because out of the 17 constitutional amendments passed since the Bill of Rights, five has focused on the expansion of the electorate. The Fifteen amendment prohibiteed discrimination on the basis of race, the Nineteenth Amendmeny gave women the right to vote, the Twenty-fourth Amendment prohibited poll taxes, and the Seventeenth Amendent provided for direct election of senators. All of these amendments work on the behalf of citizens.
